hands and feet

when i listen and watch vinnie do his solos (particularly the clip of vinnie, greg m, laborl at BP), how does he those fast chops with his hands and feet? is there any pattern that he uses like LRF FLR (weckl triplettes).... coz it sounds different.. correct me if im wrong, im not doin those things yet.. more practice needed! Cuomo es ta(hope i spelled that right)?My mom is from Manila,so its super cool to see a 'bro' on the forums.That is such a cool Vinnie gimmick,the interplay between his hands and feet,especially when employing 32nd runs between his feet/hands.BUT he directly ripped that off of Tony Williams.Tony used the same licks,and was a master of using his kick as a '3rd.hand'.In fact there were some recent MD issues regarding that concept-replacing hand strokes with kick notes.Vinnie rarely(from what i see/hear) does use Gadd/Weckl triplets.He seems/tends to use 32nd note groupings between the hands/feet.You should check the Buddy Rich Scholarship clip on this site,Vinnie executes a very ridiculously fast 32 note fill between his snare/kick then toms/kick,out of a marching snare drumlick,its amazing.Ive noticed that he phrases those fills leading with either foot or leading with hands.His other fills and licks with that concept are really just linear phrasing with feet/hands.Go thru yer Stick Control book,and at different tempos,replace various hand strokes with yer feet.It sounds super cool.Jo Jo Mayer likes using this concept too,except he uses an "up beat" phrasing,instaed of straight notes.I always freak out students throwing those kind of fills in.I hope this helps..........beats......
